Upon finishing a course successfully, each student will receive an official certification from Tallinn University of Technology. When applying for admission to TTU, the certification will be considered and one extra admission point may be awarded.
For secondary school students:
Being an entrepreneur is easier than you think! You can get all the necessary basic knowledge about creating a company, accounting, sales and marketing from this course. If you have a good idea and a desire to realize it, then this is your chance!
This course is instucted by TTU master's students, who have been active entrepreneurs for years. Currently they are running a digital marketing agency called wink (http://wink.ee/en/). All the course topics will be covered from a view of personal experience.
If you're interested in WIFI, mobile connections and radio broadcasting and you'd like to know more about what a telecommunication specialist does, then this new course is for you! Among other things, this course focuses on topics like sound streaming, frame rates, resolution, etc. As part of the course we will also be visiting Levira - a public broadcasting and media corporation.
Biomedical engineering combines biology, medicine and engineering fields. During this course we get acquainted with the different technologies used in modern medicine, like examining scans and sounds, intensive care-, operation- and sterilization equipment, and different image creating technologies.
Course in Estonian and Russian
The course aims at providing basic knowledge and skills in algorithms and programming. The main program used throughout the course is Scratch, which allows creating simpler and more playful applications. Towards the end of the course some more advanced programs like Python and VBA will also be used and students get to challenge themselves in more difficult tasks and exercises.
This particular course focuses on skills needed for programming on an advanced level. So, if you have previously completed the course "Basics of Programming and Application Creation" or you have other previous programming experience, then come test your skills!
If you are new to the world of programming, then we suggest previously completing the e-course "Basics of Programming and Application Creation".
This course is organized by Tallinn University of Technology in cooperation with the Information Technology Foundation for Education, through the IT Academy program.
For all the students who have at one time thought to themselves: "Why does this product not exist already?" - this course is for you! During this very practical and interactive product development course you will learn about generating ideas, doing research, composing a business plan and selling your product. The students work in teams to develop their own product during the semester and at the end of the course each team will make a presentation on their finished product.
For primary school students:
For grades 4-6
The LEGO Mindstorms sets allow children to explore a lot of different aspects like construction, mechanics, programming, task solving, etc. During this fun and interactive course we solve different tasks and test our robots against each other in a friendly competition!
For grades 7-9
In today's digital world, most boys and girls know very well how to use their smart phones to download and then play with different applications. But we also want to show them how to MAKE an app! In this course, each student can come up with his/her own idea for a mobile app and then learn how to make it!
The course "Chemistry is Cool" consists of 4 fun and chemistry filled saturdays, which cover different topics ranging from the biological chemistry inside humans to everything that surrounds us.
The course discusses DNA, chemistry in our everyday lives, the human immune system and much more. Participants get hands on experience through different experiments and analyses and learn to interpret the results.
